Role Overview

We are a disruptor in the proptech space and the leading estate agency comparison site. Through transparency and data, our aim is to provide a straightforward and pain-free solution to the most stressful process a homeowner can undergo; selling their property.

We analyse millions of property listings each year to create an objective measure of estate agent performance. Using our platform, homeowners can sell quicker and achieve a better price. We’re on a mission to make home-selling even easier through the roll-out of our Home Moving Platform and re-design of our site.

We’ve spent the last few months migrating the public-facing site over to Next JS, which we love! This is powered by a Rest API (Koa/NodeJS) with data stored in MySQL.

In addition to the front-end, we’ve built a custom CRM (React, NodeJS) which powers the business and most of the team use all day, every day. The system has integrations with telephony providers, payments systems and accountancy software. We’re always looking for ways to make the business more efficient through tech enhancements (and your ideas are actively encouraged).

All this was built with a small but driven tech team consisting of the CTO, 5 developers and 2 designers. As we are now growing out our tech capabilities, we are looking for a Senior Developer who is motivated by growth and working within a dynamic startup/scaleup to join the team.

What you'll be doing

As a senior member of the Tech Team, you’ll work alongside the CTO and Lead Developer. The majority of your day will be working on improving and adding new features to our existing products. As we venture into new products you’ll have the opportunity to dive in however you see fit and lead the process from idea generation and goal setting all the way to measuring the impact of your work. There will be responsibility for managing and mentoring Junior team members, as well as leading squads.

What we'll need from you

Demonstrable professional Javascript coding experience
Front-end technical skills (we use React, Chakra, CSS-in-JS)
Back-end experience (Node JS/ PHP/Ruby/Python)
Experience of managing/mentoring junior developers; and a desire to continue doing so in this role

Moving home has been voted the single most stressful life event. Getting off to a good start by appointing a good estate agent is key, but there are big decisions and stressful tasks to follow. “Who should I use for my legal advice? Do I need a mortgage? Who needs my new address?” The list goes on.

What you’ll do

Responsible for coordinating resource toward the successful rollout of the HMP

Provide operational support to the Conveyancing Sales Lead
Liaise with the Founders, Tech, Product, Customer Services etc to drive business unit forward

What you’ll do

As part of our expansion plans, there is now an opportunity to drive growth through CRM activity. You’ll own CRM Strategy, build campaigns and identify target areas. The CRM Email Manager will be confident in using automation to optimise emails flows and drive CRM campaigns to prospects, leads and existing customers through tailored communication.

Being a young business there is much to do. You’ll be responsible for reviewing our existing CRM activity and drive effective change across onboarding, cross-selling and retention. As our Home Moving Platform grows there are plenty of cross-selling opportunities to take advantage of.

This is an all-round position, so the successful candidate will have the ability to dive into all aspects of CRM and see the project through to completion.

We’ve just launched the first phase of the redesign of the product (GetAgent 2.0!). We’re really happy with the new look-and-feel, and we’re now looking for someone to lead the rollout across the rest of the site.

However, this is not a simple re-skin! We want someone to completely rethink how different sections of the site work, informed by user feedback and A/B testing.

What you’ll do

We're looking for an awesome Product Designer to lead on the UX/UI design of our web site as we roll out GetAgent 2.0 and develop new features.

You'd be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes. Over time you’ll come to be an expert at the complicated process of selling a home!

As our sole designer, you'd be a core member of GetAgent's product team and would take ownership of large parts of our platform. You’ll help grow out the product team and develop the processes we’ll need to scale.

What we need from you:

Essential:

Whilst on the UX/UI spectrum you’d be closer to UX, you’d still possess a fantastic eye for design, consistent with our new look-and-feel (check out the homepage and home seller journey).
A passion for using design to simplify an extremely complicated process (selling your home!).
Experience gathering user requirements and working with different groups of people to ensure we are building the right thing. User research will be an important part of your role.
Proficiency using Sketch (what we currently use for our high-fidelity mockups), Figma or XD.
2+ years of experience designing web sites with complex user journeys.
A data-driven approach to design i.e happy to iterate on designs to improve key KPIs.
A passion for tech and creating amazing UX/UI
Enthusiasm and willingness to take on projects outside of the job spec at times (we’re a startup - everyone has to muck in!).

Nice to have but not essential:

Some experience turning designs into HTML/CSS/SASS would be great (or at least a willingness to learn).
Experience with data visualisations would be good.

GetAgent, the UK’s leading estate agent comparison site, is a rapidly growing prop-tech startup. Proud partners of Which?, our aim is to provide a transparent and data-driven way for homeowners to choose the best agent to sell their most valuable asset.

We ingest millions of property listings each year to create an objective measure of estate agent performance. Using our unique data, homesellers sell quicker and for more money. And we’re on a mission to make homeselling even easier in the future through the roll-out of our Home Moving Platform and re-design of the site.

In addition to the public facing site, we’ve built a custom CRM (React, NodeJS) which powers the business and most of the team use all day, every day. The system has integrations with telephony providers, payments systems and accountancy software. We’re always looking for ways to make the business more efficient through tech enhancements (and your ideas are actively encouraged).

All this was built with a small but driven tech team of the CTO, 2 developers and a designer.

In 2019 we grew 3x and - until coronavirus hit - we planned to do the same in 2020!

We know working from home and in isolation can be a lonely place, so have evolved and adapted to the current situation by helping all of our staff to find fresh and dynamic ways to reach our goals, stay focused and to continue to self develop.

What you’ll do

As we expand into new products and with more and more home sellers using the GetAgent platform, we are looking for an intelligent and talented Lead Developer to support our growth.

As a pivotal member of the Tech Team, you’ll mentor and develop junior developers and review work. The majority of your day will be working on improving and adding new features to our existing products. As we venture into new products you’ll have the opportunity to dive in however you see fit and lead the process from idea generation and goal setting all the way to measuring the impact of your work.

What we need from you:

Intelligence – You don’t have to be Einstein, but we’re looking for someone with the ability to successfully assess a situation and problem solve.

Passion for tech - We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning new technologies and would probably be coding in their spare time if they weren’t being paid for it.

Personality - We’re looking for someone who has the innate ability to spark and maintain meaningful conversations with your colleagues.

Essential:

5+ years professional coding experience
2+ years recent professional React experience
Front-end technical skills (CSS, SASS/SCSS) and a pixel perfect eye for detail turning design into code
Great back-end experience (ideally Node JS, but PHP/Ruby/Python ok too)
Good knowledge of SQL databases
Experience managing and mentoring small teams of developers
Project management experience - speccing out ideas, working with stakeholders, converting into dev workflow
Fluent English

Nice to have but not essential:

Experience working in a Start-Up
Worked on a consumer-facing product
Interest in property market
Node JS experience
Worked with some of our stack - Koa, Bookshelf, Knex, Twig, jQuery, React, Bootstrap
Experience working with APIs (bonus points for Twilio, Plivo and/or Stripe)
